Mia is speaking with one of Berlin's most promising bass players, Sofia Eftychidou, about her influences and experiences as a female bassist in a largely male-dominated music industry as she'll be contributing influential basslines and groove-promised tunes.
Originally from Volos and now based in the vibrant city of Berlin, Sofia is a talented Greek artist, bass player, and composer. From the age of 10, she has been immersed in the world of music by playing the piano. Later on at age 14, she picked up the electric bass, and a few years later she started playing the double bass. She moved to Berlin at the age of 18, when she made the decision that she wanted to play jazz. Today, Sofia plays for named artists like Dumama and Sera Kalo and gives them her profound sound.
