COSMOS | Santuri East Africa

This first episode of COSMOS on Refuge Worldwide comes courtesy of Santuri East Africa, a community-focused music innovation hub based in Nairobi, Kenya. Santuri exists to bring about a more equitable, authentic and diverse music industry. In this mix, the Santuri residents explore the diverse contemporary and urban sounds of Nairobi, delving into Gengetone and its more recent relative Arbantone, which is heavily influenced by the reggaeton and riddims sampling championed by the Kenyan youth.

This show is dedicated to all those injured and killed during the peaceful protests in Kenya over the past couple of weeks.
